 A Ressurreição

20 No primeiro dia da semana, bem cedo, estando ainda escuro, Maria Madalena chegou ao sepulcro e viu que a pedra da entrada tinha sido removida. ² Então correu ao encontro de Simão Pedro e do outro discípulo, aquele a quem Jesus amava, e disse: “Tiraram o Senhor do sepulcro, e não sabemos onde o colocaram!”

³ Pedro e o outro discípulo saíram e foram para o sepulcro. ⁴ Os dois corriam, mas o outro discípulo foi mais rápido que Pedro e chegou primeiro ao sepulcro. ⁵ Ele se curvou e olhou para dentro, viu as faixas de linho ali, mas não entrou. ⁶ A seguir, Simão Pedro, que vinha atrás dele, chegou, entrou no sepulcro e viu as faixas de linho, ⁷ bem como o lenço que estivera sobre a cabeça de Jesus. Ele estava dobrado à parte, separado das faixas de linho. ⁸ Depois o outro discípulo, que chegara primeiro ao sepulcro, também entrou. Ele viu e creu. ⁹ (Eles ainda não haviam compreendido que, conforme a Escritura, era necessário que Jesus ressuscitasse dos mortos.)

 Reflexão

Neste Domingo de Páscoa (João 20,1-9) vamos refletir sobre o sepulcro vazio. Maria Madalena foi de manhãzinha, ainda escuro, ao sepulcro (v. 1) chorar a morte de Jesus. Encontrando a pedra removida correu para comunicar a Pedro e ao Discípulo Amado: “Retiraram o Senhor do sepulcro e não sabemos onde o colocaram” (v. 2b).

Perante a informação Pedro e João vão ao túmulo …o Discípulo Amado chegou primeiro e comprovou que a informação da Madalena era verídica: “viu as faixas de linho no chão, mas não entrou” (v. 5) “Chegou também Simão Pedro, que vinha correndo atrás, e entrou no túmulo. Viu as faixas de linho no chão” (v. 6).
            A fé de Pedro, de Maria Madalena e dos demais será reformulada aos poucos, a cada “primeiro dia” quando reunirem-se para a comunhão fraterna. A ressurreição não pode ser descrita, pode apenas ser experimentada. Para isso, é necessário fazer a experiência do amor profundo!

“Ele viu e creu.” Assim que decidimos procurar Jesus na nossa vida aumenta em nós a compreensão do Mistério Crer, antes de compreender.

Compreendemos a angústia de Madalena e aceitamos perfeitamente que ela ainda não tivesse percebido o significado daquele túmulo vazio. Acontece-nos também a nós ficar na tristeza do túmulo vazio e não percebemos que algo de grandioso está para acontecer.

Aprendamos a imitar os discípulos que viram e descodificaram os acontecimentos. Viram o túmulo vazio e acreditaram na ressurreição. Jesus vencera a morte, vencera o pecado. É o tempo da Fé. Como Maria Madalena hoje é o dia de o reencontrar para o resto da vida
“… e não sabemos onde o colocaram!”: Ele está no meio de nós, o Reino de Deus  está no meio de nós

Oração

Ó Deus, que pelo vosso filho unigênito, vencedor da morte, nos abriste hoje as portas da eternidade, Concedei-nos que, ao celebrarmos a ressurreição do Senhor, renovados pelo vosso Espírito, ressuscitemos na Luz da vida nova.,

The Resurrection of Jesus

20 Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the tomb. ² So she ran and went to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one whom Jesus loved, and said to them, “They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid him.” ³ Then Peter and the other disciple set out and went toward the tomb. ⁴ The two were running together, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first. ⁵ He bent down to look in and saw the linen wrappings lying there, but he did not go in. ⁶ Then Simon Peter came, following him, and went into the tomb. He saw the linen wrappings lying there, ⁷ and the cloth that had been on Jesus’ head, not lying with the linen wrappings but rolled up in a place by itself. ⁸ Then the other disciple, who reached the tomb first, also went in, and he saw and believed; ⁹ for as yet they did not understand the scripture, that he must rise from the dead. ¹⁰ Then the disciples returned to their homes.

 Reflection

We will reflect on the empty tomb this Easter Sunday (John 20: 1-10). Mary Magdalene went to the tomb early in the morning to mourn the death of Jesus. Finding the stone removed, she ran to communicate to Peter and the Beloved Disciple:

 ² “They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid him.”

 Reacting to this information Peter and John go to the tomb … the Beloved Disciple arrived first and proved that the information from Magdalene was true:

 ⁵ He bent down to look in and saw the linen wrappings lying there, but he did not go in”.

 ⁶ Then Simon Peter came, following him, and went into the tomb. He saw the linen wrappings lying there.

The faith of Peter, Mary Magdalene and the rest will be reformed little by little, every “first day” when they meet for fraternal communion. The resurrection cannot be described, it can only be experienced. To do this, it is necessary for one to experience deep love!

“He saw and believed.” As soon as we decide to look for Jesus in our lives, it increases in us the understanding of the Mystery of Belief.

We understand Magdalene’s anguish and fully accept that she had not yet realized the meaning of that empty tomb. We also sympathise with Mary and feel the same sorrow of the empty tomb because we do not realize that something great is about to happen.

Let us learn to imitate the disciples who saw and decoded these events. They saw the empty tomb and believed in the resurrection. Jesus had conquered death, conquered sin. This is the time of Faith. As it was with Mary Magdalene, today is the day to rediscover Jesus now and for the rest of our lives.

Mary Magdalene exclaimed “… And we don’t know where they put him!”

The Kingdom of God is in our midst and Jesus is amongst us.

 Prayer

O God, who through your only-begotten son, who triumphed over death and opened today the doors of eternity to us, grant us that, as we celebrate the resurrection of the Lord, renewed by your Spirit, that we may be resurrected in the Light of new life.  Amen
