Today, January 22, 2024, the Church invites us to reflect on the readings from 2 Samuel 5:1-17, Psalm 88, and Matthew 3:22-30. God chose David as the shepherd of Israel, bringing together the kingdoms of the north and south and establishing the capital in Jerusalem. David is a figure of Jesus, who, like him, united all scattered children, founding a kingdom of peace among men.

As I pray the Our Father daily, I ask the Lord for unity, peace, bread, and forgiveness. With the strength of God, we can become instruments of peace, following the example of Saint Francis of Assisi. Through our prayer and action, may we contribute to the unity and peace among men, reflecting the love and harmony that Jesus teaches us. May God bless our efforts to transform the world into a place of peace and fraternity. Amen.
